Santa Cruz Ozolotepec, Mexico - Crankhouse Coffee
Crankhouse are big champions of Mexican coffee, and this versatile bag from Oaxaca shows why. With notes of red apple, caramel and milk chocolate, this cup offers plenty of body with a little acidity.
Mexico differs from most Central and South American models in being made up of many smallholder farms with low yields, meaning many Mexican coffee beans often come from community lots like this one, which offer opportunities for shared investment in education and infrastructure.
This washed community lot comes from Santa Cruz Ozolotepec and uses the local varieties of Typica, Bourbon and Pluma for a perfectly balanced cup that we think would be ideal for espresso.
