about

La Cumbre, Guatemala - Crankhouse Coffee
A classic Guatemalan coffee roasted by Crankhouse, from second-generation farmer Mynor Cano’s small farm La Cumbre in Huehuetenango.
A combination of high altitudes in this region (La Cumbre translates to ‘The Summit’) and a love for the coffee plant and nature that Cano’s father instilled in him, makes for excellent quality coffee. In this remote region, the coffee is picked at its ripest, de-pulped and fermented before being washed on site and sun-dried in the for five days.
These coffee beans make for a very versatile cup, with plenty of caramel and red grape sweetness but a little soft acidity too.
Exeter based Crankhouse Coffee launched in 2014, growing from a single car garage to a roastery in the heart of Exeter where quality is key. Today, they are dedicated to a sustainable future of coffee, and contribute to organisations that drive science-based change in the industry such as the Specialty Coffee Association, World Coffee Research, Alliance for Coffee Excellence and One Percent for the Planet.
