Nicaragua Vista Al Cielo - Fika Coffee
Nicaraguan coffee farmer and business owner Martha Lucia Albir Sotomayor runs the Cafetos de Segovia co-operative with her sister Ana. They process and export specialty coffee from their own farms and other local estates in Mozonte, a small municipality in Nuevo Segovia near the Honduran border.
This honey-processed lot, Vista Al Cielo, comes from Martha’s own farm, where she cultivates coffee with sustainability in mind, intercropping with shade plants like bananas.
Fika have roasted up a storm with this one, providing a medium bodied coffee that has tropical notes of mango and pineapple that work well for filter, and a creamy brown sugar smoothness that brews up a tasty espresso too.
