Wayfarer, Myanmar - Elsewhere Coffee Roasters

We’ve been highly anticipating the new single origin from London roasters Elsewhere. This time round they’ve picked up a beautifully clean natural coffee from Myanmar, bright and sweet with soft notes of cantaloupe melon and vanilla.

These coffee beans come from the smallholder farmers in A Lel Chaung village who are members of Shwe Taung Thu farmers group. This farmer owned programme is made of over 3000 Danu and Pa-O growers in villages across Ywangan Township in Central Myanmar. With the support of Shwe Taung Thu, these farmers have control over the production and pricing of the coffee from their villages, where they operate community processing stations with a focus on dry naturals.

This process is ideal for the climate in Myanmar, where the harvest season’s dry heat provides perfect drying conditions, creating coffees that are sweet but light in flavour.

Elsewhere Coffee Roasters have come a long way since their lockdown beginnings. Founder Jack’s focus on roasting quality and single origin beans that are ethically sourced and fully traceable have carried them to a duo of London café sites and a beautiful roastery all in South East London. We’re super excited to get our hands on their seasonally sourced beans and share them with you too.
