Finca Hamburgo, Mexico - Missing Bean Coffee Roasters

This is Missing Bean’s second year working with Finca Hamburgo in Mexico, embarking on a successful direct trade relationship with the farm and its owners the Edelmann family.

Finca Hamburgo in Chiapas has been planted by the family since 1888, when Arthur Edelmann was tasked by the Mexican government to develop Mexico’s coffee industry and create jobs in the highlands. Today, fifth-generation farmer Tomas Bruno is still finding new ways to improve their coffee and sustainability, while innovating their production to meet the new demands of the specialty coffee industry.

These washed Mexican coffee beans are giving us cherry bakewell vibes, with fruity cherry and almond flavour, and plenty of rich sugary body. We think this lot would make for a great espresso or moka pot, and a crowd-pleasing french-press brew.

Now with 6 cafés across the county, Oxford’s first independently owned coffee shop Missing Bean have been flying the flag for specialty coffee across Oxfordshire since Ori and VIcky opened their first site in 2009. Their close-knit team have found their way into coffee from all walks of life, but all share a passion for sustainably sourced coffee which they hand roast at their East Oxford roastery.

Their coffee selection spans origins across the globe, sourcing with a special focus on developing direct trade relationships with producers.
