Parma Violet, Ethiopia - Formative Coffee
With a name like Parma Violet, Formative’s Ethiopian coffee provides everything you’d expect: floral aromas of violet and jasmine with a hint of sweet fruit flavour.
These washed coffee beans come from small plots in the Arbegona highlands around the village of Boreta in south-central Ethiopia. This area of Sidama benefits from extreme altitudes up to 2200 MASL, so it’s not hard to see why coffee is the main cash crop for farmers.
Parma Violet is another exceptional coffee from Daye Bensa, a major Ethiopian specialty coffee exporter who receive cherries from smallholder farmers and process them centrally at one of the company’s washing stations.
This coffee showcases the very best of Ethiopia, with clean and complex flavours that brew exceptionally well with a V60 or Kalita.
Formative bring the quiet contemplation of brewing specialty coffee to the chaos of central London- and to your home!
Champion barista and founder Ian Kissick believes in changing the public’s perception of coffee and providing ‘formative’ experiences to drinkers by supplying extraordinary quality coffee and a bit of patience to the rush of city life.
