Bulessa, Ethiopia - Coborn Coffee

Coborn Coffee’s new Ethiopian coffee comes from the women run team at the Bulessa Washing Station in the Sidamo region. Owner Tizita Bizuneh started her project to empower women in the coffee industry by offering full time work and educational workshops for women and children in her community.

This coffee is a real product of that community spirit, with the coffee sourced from farmers who are registered with the Kerchanshe support network, all of whom use traditional farming methods and utilise heirloom varieties.

Fully washed, this coffee also offers something a bit special for an Ethiopian and a very clean taste in the mouth, filled with peachy honey sweetness and lime acidity.

London based micro-roastery Coborn Coffee have a loyal following of supporters who have the same respect for both their high quality coffee and responsible sourcing and roasting. Justin and Kenny founded Coborn with the aim of making unique and great tasting coffees affordable to their local communities. In the two years since their inception, they’ve managed all of this while sourcing only from female majority owned farms and co-ops in developing economies.

We got chatting to these guys at London Coffee Festival and couldn’t get enough of their fun-filled brews or ambitious ideas for the coffee industry so we’re thrilled to have them on drop.
