Baristocracy’s latest coffee beans come from DR Congo’s North and South Kivu provinces, which run along the banks of Lake Kivu. Smallholder farmers are scattered amongst the Mitumba Mountains, where their communities face both geographical and political challenges. SOPACDI Co-ooperative offers over 10,000 of these farmers the opportunity to improve their coffee quality and access the fair trade of the specialty market, alongside infrastructural development and solidarity and empowerment for both women and native tribal communities.

This fully-washed Congolese coffee provides incredible sugar cane sweetness and a rich caramel body that is perfectly balanced by strong lime acidity.
