RHOC - Finca Las Hortensias, Nicaragua - Coborn Coffee

Only right that a coffee with tasting notes of pineapple and orange wine from the team at East London’s Coborn Coffee takes its name from the Real Housewives of Clapton, which has won a massive insta following for its meta mockery of East London stereotypes.

These anaerobic natural processed Nicaraguan coffee beans where juicy pineapple meets complex and aromatic orange wine are perfectly in keeping with Coborn Coffee’s brand of fun, fresh and fair coffee. (And as big orange wine keenos ourselves, it’s a bit of us too).

This one comes from the Albir sisters’ Finca Las Hortensias in the northern region of Nueva Segovia which borders Honduras. The sisters inherited the farm from their father in 2014, and have since run the farm with a big focus on environmental protection and sustainability- seeking harmony in soil, water, flora and fauna.

London based micro-roastery Coborn Coffee have a loyal following of supporters who have the same respect for both their high quality coffee and responsible sourcing and roasting. Justin and Kenny founded Coborn with the aim of making unique and great tasting coffees affordable to their local communities. In the two years since their inception, they’ve managed all of this while sourcing only from female majority owned farms and co-ops in developing economies.

We got chatting to these guys at London Coffee Festival and couldn’t get enough of their fun-filled brews or ambitious ideas for the coffee industry so we’re thrilled to have them on drop.
